Jury 2010-2011

Jury Review Procedure

If you are interested in selling your work at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts Gallery or if you would just like some feedback from professional gallery staff, we encourage you to participate in a BAC jury. Because we’re a nonprofit gallery, we’re here to help you, encourage you, advise you, and answer questions. BAC operates on a consignment basis and retains a 50% commission. Over 250 artists from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, and Alaska, working in many mediums, sell their work through us.

BAC looks for Northwest artists whose work displays a thorough mastery of medium, a strong contemporary style, and a professional presentation (flatwork framed and wired). The jury carefully considers each artist. All artist participation at BAC is by invitation of the curatorial staff.

We ask that prospective artists look over our website and visit the gallery in person before jurying. Do you think that your work would be a good fit at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts? Are we a good fit for you?

How to participate in a BAC Jury

  • Fill out a jury application. You can drop by The Gallery and pick up a jury application or download one at the bottom of this page.   If you’re unsure about your pricing, leave that blank on the application and we’ll discuss it with you.
  • Make a reservation. Call us at 206.842.3132. We limit each jury to fifteen artists so that we have ample time to consider your work.
  • Day of jury: check in at the gallery between 10:00 and 10:30. At that time you will make an appointment to return later in the day to meet with a curator and discuss your work. A staff member will direct you to our conference room where you will leave your work (no need to carry it into the gallery). We suggest that you park in the lower lot east of the Bookstore, accessible through Bjune Drive.
  • Bring with you: your application, résumé, and artist statement; your real work, not reproductions. Use your best judgment about quantity.

If you have questions, please call us, 206.842.3132.
